Yes, yes, I know that I haven’t gotten very far with my socks (and made no progress on my blanket), but still, I have toes! Well, I finished the toe-section of the socks. You know what I mean.
I was actually surprised to find that the yarn is striping. When I got it I hadn’t realized there was quite so much green in there, I could only really see all the flecked parts of the yarn. It actually made me feel a little better about the yarn, so that’s good at least. I’m looking forward to seeing how they knit up.
So Rough Trade is coming up in April and for once I have a bunny for it, so I’m quite keen to get started with the challenge. I’m trying to be good and hold off on writing until April, despite the fact that this time you’re allowed to work on a WIP as long as you add the minimum of I think 30k? Since I’m not sure how long the story will end up being I’m holding off, even though I’m itching to start. Still, only a little over a month left, I should survive, right?
In preparation for this coming challenge, though, I have been editing one of my old Rough Trade stories so that I can finally post it. It’s only taken me a little over three years to get done *clears throat*. I’ll probably start posting it in the next couple of days, so if you’re into fanfic – and especially those of you who followed Encoded back on Rough Trade – keep an eye out on my writing blog, naelany.com.
