Bye bye, 2017

This year has been a bit of up/down on several levels. On the whole, things have gone better than they have in years for hubs and me. As long as you ignore the health stuff, because that has definitely not been stellar this year.

Craftwise, I haven’t managed to do as much as I’d have liked, either. Mostly due to my health, but what’s a girl to do.

I did, however, get to cross a couple of my goals for 2017 off. I finished the gloves. I finished several pairs of socks. Was able to get a couple of cross stitch projects done as well. I didn’t get around to finishing a sweater, though I do have a cardigan in the works (unless it ends up a blanket, that’s still up in the air). Nor did I start on my map of the Netherlands. That said, I did finish both a shawl and a hat.

And let’s not forget my niece’s Christmas present. Wow, that came out a lot bigger than I intended, my apologies. And it’s on end. No idea how to fix it, either.

Here’s a close up of her gifts.

These were so much fun to make. She’s a huge Jack Skellington fan, so to have her love these just made it ten times more satisfying.

As 2017 winds down, I’m sitting here trying to think of what I’d like for 2018 and am coming up blank. Probably because I’ve caught a cold and am utterly miserable at the moment (yep, had hoped to skate by without getting sick this season only to get sick at the eleventh hour, so to speak). I’m going to give myself a break and hold off on resolutions until I feel more human.

Oh, before I forget. If you enjoy reading the guest posts and would like to share your own crafty side, drop a line. I’m looking for new guests and would love to hear from you.

For now, I’m signing off and wishing you all a happy, healthy 2018.
