I haven’t really done much by way of crafting this week, I simply haven’t had the energy for it. Fickle weather’ll do that, along with headaches, etc. What I did manage to do is get my hair done. I normally let it grow as long as I can stand it before getting it cut and then donate it to Locks of Love or the like.
That said, I haven’t cut my hair really short in a very long time. It’s been close to 20 years since I’ve had a pixie cut. So why did I opt for that this time? Because I will be getting daith piercings next week (hopefully) and I didn’t want to have to worry about my hair getting caught or irritating the area while the piercings healed.
Oh, did I forget to mention I also had my hair dyed for the first time in a very, very long time? Mind you, the most I’ve ever done in the past is either blond highlights, or become a redhead. I’ve never, ever done anything crazy fun like this and I have to say: I LOVE IT!
No, seriously, I love it. For some reason, my natural hair color looks nearly black without any help, simply because of the blue. And my gray hairs? They just add to the fun. I will admit, I’m still getting used to having such short hair again, and it feels like I’m wearing a hat that I keep trying to pull off my forehead (what can I say, I’m not used to bangs lol) only to find that I can’t, of course. It’s also gotten a lot chillier ;-).
I figure, I’m 41 years old (almost 42). I’ve never done anything like this in my life, and I deserve to do something crazy and fun. I’ve always sort of envied people for doing something as bold as that and I never dared. Well, I dared this time and I am proud of myself for it.

Wow. This is cool. Whenever anyone asks me what to do with their hair I always say dye it blue but no one ever listens to my advice! They totally should cos this looks awesome.

LOL! I wanted to do something fun. Initially (and I still do) I wanted to do a rainbow at the top but that was more than I could afford. This was my next choice and I do not regret it at all. Maybe some day that rainbow’ll happen 😉

I won’t be able to donate again for a long, long time now, since I dyed it. But yeah, I’ve done it several times over the years. Figure someone might as well get some use out of it, right?
Doesn’t it, though? It’s so weird lol. I swear, all they did was add blue.
